"The global financial climate, globalization and the Eurozone"

Dominique Strauss-Kahn is a French economist, lawyer and politician. He served as the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 2007 until his resignation in 2011. He was previously a professor of economics at the Sciences PO and the French Minister of Economy and Finance.

You err (greatly) by quoting the milacs made by the New York Post and Forbes regarding the "maid did not know Strauss". Anything published by the media is subject to severe investigation for inaccuracies and planted "facts".I don't believe anything the media publishes anymore. You've also made a straw argument in your last paragraph (Le Figaro). Second hand accounts such as what you quoted are irrelevant.I suspect Strauss is guilty, but I derive my conclusions from a totally different perspective. It would be a VERY BIG DEAL to convince this maid to make a false claim. The physical evidence alone should suffice, irrespective of what the media milacs are, what you think, what I think, etc.The DNA evidence will also be nearly impossible to fabricate. The chain of custody on this will be carefully preserved (most likely) due to the high profile nature of this case. If he is convicted on this, well then all the conspiracy theories in the world won't mean squat and everyone will have to accept this.

Excellent talk and well done for dealing calmly with the provocative student question at the end.

Mister Dominique Strauss Kahn is someone who does not fear to indulge himself in acts of provocation, from the sensual to the economic, so as been proven he withstands provocation by others well. Still I think there are more dimensions to the issue of 'free speech' that has been raised and which are bruised aside too easily by your debating society. DSK has muffled free speech of ladies who did not like his libido on their ody on sevreal occasion, by hiring most expensive lawyers and the like. Also in the field of economics there are aspects to the practice of mister Strauss Kahn that have been less into the public focus than his sexual escapades. May I suggest that students do more than argue emotions and study also this source (Research at the IMF: Relevance and Utilization, May 20, 2011).

I made a vote against this commentary and it says "an error occurred". So it has been registered as a vote, so I have to write. This person, the author of it, Tjebbe van Tijen, should just stay in tabloids.
There is so many of that types of commentaries there, so I do not think it is usefull here as a reaction to Strauss-Khan's speech. More, DSK entered IMF IN 2007 AND the document in question speaks about realisations of IMF until 2008. Even if it is first said it is a document that seems to be written in May 2011. Just check the dates inside, so please, do not lose your time with that . There are many other sources you may find.

And what is that IEO?

We have so much more interesting things to do than reading a document posted by anybody or anyone who wants to influence people just by taking their time.

I appreciated DSK's answer to this young man about the lawyer outside, in the street trying to influence the crowd. "So, what, do you want?"

That was a very good speech. This man is wow.

Even if nobody wants to be a province of anybody.

What a pity that this man does not for the French polls. None of the candidate has this level of analysis, of understanding of the global economy, none of them is able to articulate anything constructive about Europe and the future of Europe. And nobody in France is able to deal with what will happens twith the sovereign debt crisis which is slowly but surely destroying our future and the future of the next two generations.
Well done Mr. Strauss-Kahn, I hope that in a way or another, you will find the way come back into politics.

I was about to write something similar - when I found your comment. So yes I deeply agree with you. And I wish to Mr. Strauss-Kahn a lot of force to go through this difficult period and to find a new job where he will be able to use his extraordinary competence. Bravo, Mr Strauss-Kahn.

What is with the need for a reserve cuenrrcy? That is just lazy behaviour, it's like a risk independent fixed interest rate, it hides information about the risk but is easy on the lender. A world cuenrrcy puts power in the hands of the issuer. To suggest that while monetary blocks are under such stress and the abuse by the US of the dollar reserve cuenrrcy habit reaches its pinacle is simply moronic. The IMF should be cut up and abolished immediately. It is a complete failure in every way.Saying things like Intellectually healthy' is just to get the psychopats on board. Saying things like such an asset could be similar to but distinctly different is just to nonsense to tie the brains of the audience in a knot so they don't see it is about forcing trust upon the world population in return for becoming a serf.
