The Cambridge Union
This year’s Cambridge Climate Change and Sustainability Forum, ‘Everyday Climate Heroes’, seeks to empower all members of society to take action and mobilise new ways of tackling climate change. Though not denying the role of corporate players and systemic inequalities in the climate crisis, we aim to address a wider network of ‘everyday’ people and create transformational solutions. We want to emphasise hopeful future prospects and centre on the collective potential of the Cambridge community to drive meaningful change.
Join us in stimulating panel discussions on International Activism, Climate Politics, Emerging Technologies and a debate titled ‘Sustainable Growth vs Degrowth’. Each panel boasts a lineup of prestigious speakers and together, we aim to share knowledge, discuss strategies and take action towards overcoming the current environmental and climate crisis we find ourselves in. Following the discussion of the four panels, the final hour of the event will provide a networking opportunity between speakers and attendees.
We feel privileged to be collaborating with the Cambridge Union and presenting the forum in the main chamber, the host of spirited discussions for over 200 years. The forum is open to all and we hope to inspire a diverse audience beyond the student community in Cambridge. As a result of the collaboration with the Cambridge Union, members are offered discounted tickets that will require proof of membership to be presented on the day.
