Tuesday 14th February
8:00pm
The Cambridge Union
For the first 72 years of The Cambridge Union’s existence, speakers in our debates were purely members. Debates really were by the members, for the members and of the members.
Yet, today our debates are dominated by outside guest speakers. I need not remind you that this Lent term will have one of the largest pools of guest speakers in a number of years. Despite these speakers’ brilliant contributions, we must not forget the purpose of the Union.
Therefore, on the Thursday 14th of February we return to our roots as a members’ society to debate the motion ‘This House Believes the Packaging Has Become More Important Than the Politics’.
This debate will be in the Library and open to all members but only for members. There will be four paper speakers, two on each side, followed by as many speeches from the floor as possible.
Do join us in the Library, on Valentine’s Day, for an evening of drink and lively debate.
