This House Regrets The Arab Spring
Thursday 16th February

On the 17th December 2010, 26-year-old Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire in Sidi Bouzid. This was the spark that led to the Tunisian Revolution and wider Arab Spring.
Countless revolutions, civil wars and political insurgencies later is the Middle East in a better place now? Have the uprisings somewhat achieved progress and the basic objectives that were set in mind by the protestors? Or have they played a role in furthering instability and disincentivising regimes to even consider adapting to change?
Did the Arab Spring become a prolonged ‘Arab Winter’?
