In the second debate of term, we discuss the position of Britain’s military. As concerns are raised over the fitness of Britain’s armed forces in an increasingly unstable international climate, this debate will examine whether the new government should prioritise bolstering military capabilities to ensure national security or if such additional expenditure is unjustified in an era of strained economic circumstances, where resources might be better allocated to critical domestic needs.
Speaking in Proposition: Tobias Ellwood, Malcolm Rifkind, Admiral the Right Honourable Lord West of Spithead
Speaking in Opposition: Sophie Bolt
