Frequently asked Questions
Can I still go to events after I graduate?
Life membership is for life. All members are welcome at our events; just make sure to bring your membership card to gain entry.
Can I be added to an Alumni mailing list?
If you are a member, you can register to join our mailing list via our members portal.
If you’re not already registered on our members portal, email info@cus.org with your full name (as it was when you joined), your college, and the year you joined the Union, and our team will create an account for you.
Do I need to be a current member to attend events or debates?
Some events are open to the public, but membership (including Life Membership) gives you access to all our events, priority communications, and additional perks. Always check the event listing for access notes. If in doubt, email info@cus.org to find out more.
I've lost my membership card, what can I do?
All Cambridge Union Society members can replace their card at the Union’s reception. Either send us an email at info@cus.org with your details, or stop by during opening hours and our receptionist will print you a new card. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to ship or mail replacement cards directly to you, and any replacement cards must be collected in person at the reception by the member.
How else can I get involved and support the Union as a Life Member??
There are plenty of ways to get involved as a Life Member after you’ve left Cambridge. Attend reunions, mentor students, speak on a panel, help us to collaborate with your own organisation, share a testimonial, help with our charitable fundraising, or hire our venue for reunions and celebrations.
Tell us how you’d like to help and we’ll connect you to the right person.
