Tim Davie became Director-General of the BBC on 1 September 2020. He is the 17th Director-General of the Corporation. As Director-General, he is the editorial, operational and creative leader of the BBC, with responsibility for a global workforce running services across television, radio and online. Prior to this, Tim was Chief Executive of BBC Studios, the BBC’s principal commercial subsidiary, with responsibility for creating and distributing leading British content globally.
Before joining the BBC, he was Vice President of Marketing and Franchise at PepsiCo Europe. Before this, Tim worked for Procter and Gamble after leaving Cambridge University where he read English. Tim is a Trustee of the Tate and the Royal Television Society. He is a former co-chair of the Creative Industries Council, a former chair of Comic Relief, and was appointed CBE in 2018 for services to International Trade.
