Nadhim is a former Conservative Cabinet Minister and Member of Parliament for Stratford-on- Avon. Born in Baghdad, he and his family fled Saddam Hussein’s regime and sought refuge in the UK when he was 11 years old, arriving not being able to speak a word of English. He later earned a degree in chemical engineering from University College London before transitioning into business.
In 2000, Nadhim co-founded YouGov, which grew into one of the world’s most successful polling and market research firms. He served as CEO until 2010, when he stepped down to become the MP for Stratford-on-Avon, a position he held until 2024. During his time in government, Nadhim held several senior roles, including Chancellor of the Exchequer and Education Secretary. However, his most notable achievements include leading the UK’s world-leading COVID-19 vaccination rollout and overseeing the state funeral of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Since leaving politics, Nadhim has taken on key leadership roles in business. He is the Non- Executive Chairman of The Very Group, working closely with its directors and management team to drive sales, profitability and expansion. In January 2025, he was appointed Chairman of the Advisory Board at Omniyat, a luxury real estate company in Dubai. That same month, ADOR Diagnostics also announced his appointment as Chairman of its Advisory Board.
