7.30pm
The Cambridge Union
The consideration of legacy of imperialism is highly relevant to an understanding of the modern world. From BLM to Indigenous land rights protests, questions have been asked of the continuing responsibility and power of former colonisers, and whether post-colonialism has resulted in neocolonialism. Our presidential debate aims to answer these, discussing whether imperialism is still the dominant force of modern international relations or whether it has been superceded by distinct and different power structures.
Speakers: Neha Pauly, President of the Cambridge Union Easter 2024, Debbie Ngarewa-Packer, Magette Wade, Yasmin Abdel-Magied and Student Speakers.
