This House Would Sacrifice Economic Growth for Climate Justice

Thursday 22nd May

8.00pm

The Cambridge Union

Recent government decisions, such as Rachel Reeves’s green light for expansions at Heathrow and Luton airports, have brought the tension between economic growth and climate justice to the political fore.
This Equalities Debate aims to explore whether these goals can be reconciled: are these two ends mutually exclusive, or even desirable in the first place?

Proposition:
HE. Dr Iruthisham Adam
Tessa Khan

Opposition:
Pippa Heylings MP
Tom Harwood
Sarah Gordon

Emergency Debate begins at 7:30pm. Follow our Instagram to get updates on when to audition for the main debate or emergency!
